Puckett’s Mill School Counseling Mission Statement
The mission of the Puckett’s Mill Elementary Counseling department is to cultivate a community of independent, passionate learners. In a safe and caring environment, students learn to respect, cooperate and listen to each other. Counselors will work with school and community stakeholders to support all students. The comprehensive, data-driven program allows equity and access to each student. All students are valued for their uniqueness and individuality and supported as they reach their highest potential, prepare to be lifelong learners, and attain skills necessary for college and future success in an ever-changing, competitive world.
Mrs. Capes
This is my seventh year at Puckett's Mill Elementary School. I graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois ready to teach elementary school. Early in my career, however, I realized my love for supporting students' mental, social, and emotional well-being. I obtained my Specialist in Education degree in School Counseling and joined the Puckett's Mill Elementary family.
My husband, Mr. Capes, is the PMES PE teacher, and our two boys, now at Mill Creek High School, were students here. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family (you might catch us at the frisbee golf park), reading a great book, and writing music.
I am honored to support our K-5 Puckett's Mill students.
